Places for People, one of the UK's leading housing associations has recently announced a £100 million scheme which will stray far from the usual construction procedures seen in current housing projects across the UK.
Purchasing structures from ilkes, Places for People will deliver 750 modular homes, taking 500 units to pre-owned sites and the other 250 will be dedicated to expanding the affordability of housing areas in England, Scotland and Wales.
Yorkshire-based ilkes homebuilders are innovating the traditional methods and techniques used in construction by adopting a new procedure, manufacturing entire units off-site, to then transport them to be configured and set in to the foundations of the site.
This process makes for a more efficient build, creating precision-engineered homes equipped with all the fittings down to every last detail, including tile fitting and bathroom layouts. They are ready to decorate the day after they have been built and require only the minimal adjustments after being placed on site. From start to finish, these structures are set up quickly with attention focused on every element of the build, making for a less chaotic construction and a higher volume in production.
